DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Wisconsin... Kickapoo River at Ontario affecting Monroe and Vernon Counties. .Heavy rain has resulted in minor flooding along the Kickapoo River neat Ontario. No additional rainfall is expected as the rain is ending across the basin. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring on the south side of the town of Ontario due to the Brush Creek and Kickapoo River and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Kickapoo River at Ontario. * WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Flooding occurs along the river in the Ontario area. Water may be over Highway P near Bridge 10, and also over Winchell Valley Road at Bridge 8. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 16.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:00 AM CDT Saturday was 16.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.6 feet early this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.2 feet on 03/28/2014. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A mammatus cloud is a cloud with a unique feature which resembles
a web of pouches hanging along the base of the cloud.
In the United States, mammatus clouds tend to form in the warmer months, commonly
in the Midwest and eastern regions.
While they usually form at the bottom of a cumulonimbis cloud, they can also form
under altostratus, altocumulus, stratocumulus, and cirrus clouds. Mammatus clouds
warn that severe weather is close.

Precipitation can refer to many different forms of water that
may fall from clouds. Precipitation occurs after a cloud has become saturated to
the point where its water particles are more dense than the air below the cloud.
In most cases, precipitation will reach the ground, but it is not uncommon for
precipitation to evaporate before it reaches the earth's surface.
When precipitation evaporates before it contacts the ground it is called Virga.
Graupel, hail, sleet, rain, drizzle, and snow are forms of precipitation, but fog
and mist are not considered precipitation because the water vapor which
constitutes them isn't dense enough to fall to the ground.
