DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...Foothills of the Blue Mountains of Oregon and Washington, Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Washington, and North Central Oregon. * WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 11 AM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Patchy blowing dust may reduce visibility.
INSTRUCTION: People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
